Becoming unstuck: Embracing change and making bold decisions

We've decided to sell our house in an effort to become unstuck in our current season of life.

Change can feel scary and the unknown daunting. It’s easy to resist it and to stay in a place that feels familiar and safe. But sometimes (often!), the smallest shift can be the thing that unlocks new possibilities, makes space for new inspiration and allows for a version of ourselves that we may not even have met yet.

Over the last year or so, Michael and I have been feeling a bit stuck both personally and professionally. We wanted things to change, but we didn’t quite know how to do it or what that should look like. This year, we’ve made a goal to be really intentional about our choices and to make bold decisions, to be receptive to change, and hopefully to become unstuck in the process.

We’ve decided to put our house on the market to see where that leads. We think it will be fun to have a new creative project to work on (and to share with you). We’re excited about the inspiration that will come from a new project and hoping this inspiration will fuel other ideas and open new doors. We're also excited to have a bit more financial freedom -- to travel a bit more and have more family adventures before our kids all fly the nest.

This is a decision we have been weighing up for the last year or so. We've changed our minds and wobbled back and forth, but we are finally to a point where this decision feels good and we are excited to see where this change will lead us.

We’ve LOVED this house so, so much. It has been the most wonderful, cosy family home for this particular part of our family’s journey. It's a very special old house in a really beautiful small town (you can read more about the house here). My friend, Aimee, has said that this house feels like a warm hug, and I've always loved that description. How lucky we are to have been embraced by this home for the last six years. We really hope a family buys it and loves living here as much as we have.
