For Michael’s birthday last month, I decided to bake a cake that combined his favourite combo of dark chocolate and peanut butter. What can go wrong, right?
So I made a double batch of everyone’s favourite brownies, going easy on the sugar, modifying it a little to be a bit less gooey and a tiny bit more cakey in texture, and then I whipped up a peanut butter frosting by literally just winging it. I’d never had peanut butter frosting before, but I figured it had to be possible.
It was an experiment with great success. Everyone loved it.
Thankfully, Easton’s birthday was 9 days later, so I had another opportunity to fine-tune the cake recipe. I tweaked it slightly to make it a bit less dense, and this time I wrote down exactly what I did, so I could share the recipe with you.
