My good friend, Amelia Rushforth, shares 5 things she's loving right now
Her favourite film camera, dry shampoo she swears by, a new podcast episode she can't stop thinking about and a timeless jacket to add to your wish list
My friend, Amelia Rushforth, is a mother of four young girls. She’s also an incredibly talented photographer known for her wedding photography and beautiful portraits. Last year, she and I travelled to Los Angeles, London and back to Australia to photograph 24 homes for our new book, and not only does she take perfect photos, she’s also a super fun travel buddy. She’s effortlessly stylish in a timeless-but-cool kind of way, her home is one of my favourites (I could easily move in!), she owns and rides horses with her girls (jealous!) and I’m just really excited to share five of her current favourite things because I knew, even before I asked her, that I would love what she shares. (I want that jacket! I need to watch that movie! And I’m going to listen to the podcast tonight when I fold laundry!)
Here are Amelia’s 5 favourite things…
Fuji Film GA645 — Probably one of my favourite cameras to have around. It’s perfect for people wanting to take their film photography a little bit further. It’s fun, it’s lightweight, good to travel with and super easy to use!
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo — My hair is probably one of the things I dislike most about myself. It’s extremely thin and get’s very oily. For this reason I’m always on the hunt for a good dry shampoo and this one goes above and beyond.
The Horse Whisperer — I watch this movie with my daughters at least once a year - it’s one of my all-time favourite films. It’s just so incredibly beautiful and Kristen Scott Thomas’s style in it is impeccable. I’ve just started reading the book again too.
The Call Her Daddy podcast interview with Jane Goodall — I listened to this episode driving in the car two days ago and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Jane Goodall is the epitome of everything I could ever wish to be in a human, listening to this episode made me want to cry the whole way through and hold on to hope.
Barbour jackets — I’m a huge believer in buying less but spending more on quality pieces that you will hopefully have in your wardrobe for a long time. I have one of the Alexa Chung x Barbour jackets from a few years ago that I still wear every winter, and another one from 10 years ago that I still use. I’ve been eyeing off the new collection from Lucy Williams x Barbour and wishing I could add another one to my wardrobe. I think Barbour jackets are so classic, timeless and useful in any wardrobe.
This is part of a bigger series where I ask inspiring people to share 5 favourite things. I love this series! To see what other friends have shared, click here.
And a reminder that our book, The Family Home, is available to pre-order online or in your local book sellers. We’re really proud of the book and can’t wait for you to read it!
