Sarah Gwonyoma Shares 5 Things She's Loving Right Now
A vintage shop, a memoir and BBC series, a no-fail dinner recipe and clay mask that will leave your skin GLOWING!
I have actually never met my friend Sarah in real life, but we are Instagram BFFs and soul sisters, and I love her dearly. If you follow Sarah @whatsarahreadnext, you probably feel the same. She radiates positive vibes, she's real and vulnerable and cool as can be, and she has an infectious and admirable zest for life.
Sarah is a writer (she's currently writing her first book! I'm so excited!!!) and she's a book reviewer with a huge passion for books. She regularly interviews book authors on her Instagram feed, which are always fun to watch.
After 13 years in Fiji, she and her son have recently moved back to the UK. She lives in St. Leonards-on-Sea in East Sussex, and has just organised a new series of live events which kicks off tomorrow! I wish I could teleport myself to the UK to attend and give this woman a giant hug.
Below are 5 favourite things she's loving right now...
1. I’ve always loved vintage clothes and recently discovered the Hawk & Dove vintage shop, which is a boutique treasure chest of a shop in Hastings Old Town. I’ve found old school Levi’s, silk shirts and the ultimate luxury - cowboy boots! Yes, I’m bringing them back!
2. After inhaling Abi Morgan’s memoir this summer - This is Not a Pity memoir, I immediately started fan-girling her and started watching her critically acclaimed BBC series - The Split and am hooked.
3. Absolutely devoured and loved so much Jane Campbell’s short story collection Cat Brushing. Thirteen older women explore their sensual worlds in the most mind-blowing way. Each one of these stories will literally blow your mind. Read this book asap.
4. As autumn arrives I’m leaning into warming foods here at home and Jamie Oliver’s Fish Pie recipe is delivering. Yum!
5. I absolutely love all of the Afro Hair & Skin beauty range as it’s all made from natural ingredients and not only feels and smells magical but truly does hit the spot. The REBIRTH Clay Mask leaves my skin feeling soft and literally GLOWING. It’s a weekly staple in my skincare regime.
