I collect coins and a note from every country I’ve been too, they have so little monetary value, but they hold such a story in their designs, and remind me of all the wonderful places I’ve been 🌎
I have the notes in a photo album, so that it’s easy to look at them without damaging them, but the coins I’m yet to find a creative way of displaying them! X
I collect rocks from rivers, ones that are particularly old and worn, so you can see the layers that formed them, a glimpse into their pasts. Also, I collect the caps from a very specific juice brand, as the motivational messages written on them always seemed to be suspiciously relevant.
As a kid I collected ceramic animal seals (while travelling a lot through England and Ireland). They must be in a box somewhere now - I haven’t thought about them in years! Maybe I need to look for more and dig them out.
I once read about a woman who loved blue, and had a growing collection of odd and mis matched blue&white plates that weirdly went very well together as a “set” due to the colour theme - an idea I love.
Oh I love the idea of mismatched blue and white plates! Such a fun idea. And yes, you definitely have to find your ceramic seals! How cool would it be to have those again and to display them on a shelf in your home. xx
I love collecting and I love seeing other people’s collections too! When I think of people I love I often think of the things they love collecting. For my grandmother it was stamps, my aunt it’s sea glass, my husband it’s rocks and bones, I love ceramic mugs, and my Nana also collected elephants! I loved seeing them on her shelves as a kid. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my gosh, shark teeth! Where are you finding these? (Once, when we were on a beach in the UK, we found shark teeth in the sand there and thought it was incredible!!) xx
It’s so fun - definitely my new obsession, but it’s hard not to like it when it means I get to walk along the beach. We’re in Charleston, SC, USA. We find little ones on the river and beach where we are blessed to live and then if you paddle board/boat out to the islands off of the beach, I’ve found some as large as my hand!
Great tips! I love the hunt so much. I collect vintage handmade ceramics and wood bowls since we’ve eliminated plastic from our kitchen. It brings me so much joy when I open the cupboard and see my stacks of plates. So much joy!
I love this so much Courtney. I collect vintage baskets and woven placemats. Also kitchen utensils which made me smile when I read about your wooden spoons. It brings me so much joy! I love the idea of gifting them to friends. I am going to start doing this! Thank-you for sharing.

I love this! How fun. And how do you display these or store them? In a folder? In a box? xx

Love this!
Congratulations on the book - how exciting!

I have an aunt who collects sea glass too! (And my dad collects rocks and arrowheads.) I had forgotten these things until I read your comment. xx
Thank you for your thoughts! Seashells and shark teeth for me! (Or really, anything interesting that washes up in the sand)

As big as your hand!! OMG!
Megalodon! No joke! So many prehistoric treasures - come and visit! It’s my children’s favorite activity too 😊

Oh I love that! I agree -- so much joy to see your treasures all stacked up. xx

Oooh woven placemats. How fun! I'd love to see pics of your collections. xx
