I loved all of these thoughts so much! Felt like I was chatting with a friend about our favorite current things and I screenshotted a lot for later. Please keep sharing these 🫶
It's really the best money spent! I find that it allows me to (mostly) relax about the messy house, knowing that once a week it becomes clean and tidy. (I always joke that I want to lock the doors so the kids can't get in when they come home from school on Monday. Haha.)
Loved reading your jumble of thoughts this morning in Lisbon! Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favourites too so thanks for the great interview link! ♥️
This post was so good! I caught myself wanting to chat about each bullet point. But here’s one story I do want to share: I live in Marin County CA and last week I was getting out of my car in the Target parking lot just as another woman was getting something out of her trunk. I thought, “I’d recognize that hair anywhere.” It was Anne Lamott! I approached her and started crying telling her how much her writing has meant to me over the years. She was so kind and gracious and down to earth. Then, later, we passed each other in an aisle in Target and she complemented the plate I had in my cart. 💕 What a day.
You Are Here is a wonderful book that you will not want to end!! I read it then listened to the audiobook. I think it will be turned into a series/movie soon too!
Do it!! I see it as money well spent for my mental health. I just love knowing that she's coming -- it makes me feel less stressed out during the week when everything feels so messy. xx
I've just added the Annie Dillard book to my kindle to go away on holiday with. (I don't normally use it except when traveling). Such a coincidence you mentioned it - its the all time favourite book of Craig Mod whose writing I love - he mentioned it earlier this year on the Tim Ferriss podcast. I adore weird coincidences in book recommendations - its always a sign in my opinion.
Saaaame! And it often seems to happen like that when you're meant to read it. I'm so excited for you to head off to Ireland! Enjoy your time and holiday reading. (Now I'm off to google Craig Mod. Haha) xx

I love that you admit to having a cleaner - I have 3 kids and have recently got a cleaner. It has been life changing!! x

Loved the brain dump, thanks for sharing. :) Go Marlow, that is so brave! 💛
Thank you Jennie!
She really is so brave -- there's no way I would have done that at her age. xx

Oh my gosh, what a star sighting for sure!! Lucky you. I'm sure she was as lovely in real life as we'd all hope she'd be. Cute!!!
